Hello Folks, I'm seeking some opinions as to why a decorated SS-Unterscharführer of the 3rd Company, Galizisches SS-Freiwilligen-Regiment 5 would have been transferred out of that unit, and into the 3rd Battalion, of the SS-Polizei-Rgt. 23, rather than into the newly formed 14. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (gal. Nr. 1)? The person I'm referring to was indeed transferred as noted above on 19 September 1944. I just doesn't appear to make scense to me, although I admit that there may have been unknown reasons why. I'd be happy to hear other's thoughts on this subject. As always, any & all replies will be very much appreciated. THANK YOU
Best regards, dpast32 ( [email protected] )

Hey! That very clear! But I think I can give you an Information. The Galizisches SS-Freiwilligen-Regiment 5, is part of all the Galzischen Freiwillegen. First not part of the Division, but soon became Part of the Division. Could it be that Polizei-Regiment 23 is 32? While thiswill also become Part of 14. Division. So all Unites were not different, is all part of the same System!
