Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger
Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger
I was hoping someone might have the SS officer file papers for Krüger? I was wondering if the names of his wife and two sons might be listed there. One source indicates his wife's name was Elizabeth. Thank you.

Re: Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger
Friedich-Wilhelm Krüger was married on 16th September 1922 to Elisabeth Rasehorn (born on 15th November 1896 in Bad Lausick; NSDAP number 1 066 106). They had two children, both boys, born on 4th May 1929 and on 13th March 1936.

Thank you Max, and thank you Georges. Do you know if either of the boys was named Anton or Toni?

Re: Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger
Also if possible what happened to Krüger and his family after the 8th May 1945?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger
I am currently doing research on Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger and am thrilled to actually find a relatively "recent" thread on him. Most of the information I've found on line deals with his military career but there's very little about his family and personal life. I noticed that one individual asked about the names of his children but that question was never answered. So, I'd like to pose that question again: does anyone know what the names of his children were? I am also curious to know if anyone has any information about his foster children.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger
Hello, von thoma
What is the source of the file please? It's a scan of a high quality (book?) print.
Original copies of this photo session (minimum four portraits of Krüger were taken at the time) can be found at the BSB Bildarchiv (see files hoff-33199 - 33202). The archival captions provided no date for these images and mentioned that he's pictured in the SS Division "Nord" commander's uniform. The photos were however taken while or soon after he commanded the V SS Mountain Corps: by the time he was awarded the Knight's Cross he already switched commands from the "Nord" to the V SS (in Croatia), and he also wears the Military Order of the Iron Trefoil there, the highest Croatian military medal, which he surely earned as the corps commander (I don't have the award date though; he did also spend some time in Croatia months earlier, but on training, i.e. he didn't have real opportunities to earn such an award back then).
Cheers,
Ivan

Thanks - so Mike posted it there (It is indeed a print media scan.)
A good late-war portrait indeed; here are all four BSB images, via BPK (click to enlarge):

Re: Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger
No photos, but information from another source:
SS-Ogruf Krüger: Führer, SS-OA Ost Krakow and HSSPF Krakow until Jan 1944. von Woyrsch has a high regard for this man. Relieved as HSSPF Krakow by SS-Ogruf Koppe in Jan 1944. After leaving Krakow was, at some later date, given command of a Waffen-SS Div in the North, after which he was in command of 5.SS-Gebirgs Korps in the South, probably in the Balkans. During the concluding stages of the war, Krüger with the staff of 5.SS Gebirgs Korps, moved to the area between Posen and Berlin where the Korps took part in the operations against the Russians about the end of Jan or beginning of Feb 1945; about this time Krüger fell out with the RFSS and was sent on leave, and SS-Ogruf Jeckeln took over command of the 5.SS-Gebirgs Korps; both von Woyrsch and von Herff heard rumours that Krüger, at the end stages of war, was in charge of L of C in area Vienna; von Woyrsch states that Krüger strongly disapporved of Gen Gouverneur Frank’s methods in Poland; Krüger did his best to get Frank removed from the post of Gen Gouverneur, but the final result was that Krüger himself was relieved of his post, probably about Sept 1943; von Woyrsch last saw Krüger about 24 March 1945 in Prague, when Krüger was on his way to Vienna.
About 50 years old; 1.72m tall; slim build; dark hair; longish face; clean shaven; wore glasses for reading; probably lives in Berlin.
(from TNA Kew, WO 208/4178, CSDIC (UK) GRGG 338 (10 Aug 1945), interrogation of von Woyrsch and von Herff)

Thanks for posting, but please always be specific about sources, as is required by the forum rules:
In this case, the uncredited auction website is this one: https://www.alexautographs.com/auction- ... 9684E4796EProvide sources for your photos in the same way that you cite written sources. It is not enough to write "Google" or "eBay"; you must specify the specific website or seller name.
