It may be SS-Brif. Prof. Dr. Franz Six (leader SK 7c/EGr. B = Vorkommando Moskau) in the first picture on the far left.

To me this photo of SS members look like a prewar unit of the SS, there is nothing which indicate
that those SS men are members of a EG or the Gestapo.

Best regards

Got an ID for your second photo, Max- the Ostubaf. in the middle, w/EK I and Inf.St.Abz.- is the later SS-Staf. Karl Tschierschky (see p. 204 of MacLean's The Field Men for two comparison photos). Face and awards a perfect match.

What the heck are this SS men in the Photo wearing!? I'm puzzled. It looks like a Russian Gimnastorka Tunic! Are they dressing as Soviets!? I would like to know your thoughts on this...

Dear Doggowitz,
They are wearing the style of SS-VT drill tunics worn in the early to mid 1930's.

Max,

Your first photo possibly id'ing Six on the left, is the SS-Staf (?) facing the camera
Gerret Korsemann?

In the group photo with SS-men lounging on an incline, the third man from the left
and standing also looks a little like Six.

If Six was a Kommandoführer in the 1938 Sudeten campaign then this group photo
may have been taken then. All conjecture on my part.

Sorry Korsemann joined the SS as Oberführer 30.1.39 prior to that he was only Major der Schutzpolizei

Phil,

Are you advising that it is not Korsemann because (a) it is isn't or (b) because
I queried him with the rank as SS-Staf which Korsemann never had?

He bears more than a passing resemblance to the photo of Korsemann in Yerger's
"Allgemeine-SS" p.101

Steve
