#1

Post by Reader3000 » 19 Jun 2006, 16:26

Not sure where to post this, so it comes into this section here:

Last week I found the name Herbert Reinecker in a short article about Kurt "Panzermeyer" Meyer. Who was Reinecker and what did he have to do with Panzermeyer?

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

There is a Herbert Reinecker (born December 24, 1914), a very prolific German novelist, dramatist and screenwriter.

I think that this Reinecker wrote a series of articles about Kurt Meyer -and about Michael Wittman, by the way- for the newspaper of the SS. IIRC, Reinecker was Kriegsberichterstatter in the Waffen-SS.

Reinecker is the author of the famous German TV series "Derrick" and (I think also) "Der Alte".
Until 1945 he was HJ-Oberbannführer in the Reichsjugendführung.

Thanks so far, guys. The info was found by me in the article about Kurt Meyer in "Die neue deutsche Biographie" or how the lexikon is called.

Has anyone maybe that book by Reinecker - his autobiography - and can help me with the parts about Panzermeyer?

I still didn't manage to read his book in which he seems to mention Kurt Meyer. :?
