More SS-T.-Officers:

Who can give me more info over the last Kdr of the SS-Pz.Rgt.3

SS-Ostubaf
Dr Gerhard Adam
SS-NR: 19159
Born: 23.11.1907
I know that he came from SS-Pz.Rgt.10 "Frundsberg"
But I dont´have the deathdate of him.

I also wonder how it´s that SS-Panzer Regiment 3 "Totenkopf" is so unknown to us who research the Waffen-SS, all the other SS-Pz.Rgt.´s are mostly covered, especially SS-Pz.Rgt.1, 2, 5 and 12.
If you search the Internet or look in books you find a lot of info about those Rgt.´s but not the
SS-Pz.Rgt.3 "Totenkopf", which I find most extrodinary. Even Vopersal in his books about the
Totenkopf Division isn´t there much about the people who was in that unit.
Was the unit completed destroyd during the last days or?

What do you other think?

Best regards,

Georg

Hello can someone provide me more info on this
SS-Sturmbannführer?

All units he served in is known, but I wonder if someone knows which
Decorations he had and NSDAP Nr?
A photo would also be most welcome.
Why he is in this thread about SS-T.-Officers is that he served early in the war as Adjutant in the SS-T.-Art.Rgt. he also served in the SS-Pz.Jg.Abt.5 Wiking and at 6.S-Gebv.Div Nord.

Kommer

#57

Post by Max Williams » 12 Feb 2007, 19:29

Gents,
I just came across this original newspaper cutting in my files. It refers to Jakob Kommer and shows his date of death as 18 October 1941, not 19th as noted by Phil above. It confirms his W-SS rank as Stubaf. at the time of his death.
(Nice address!)
Hope it helps.
Max.

Georg wrote:Hello All,

About SS-Ustuf Herbert Biesold in SS-Pz.Gr.Rgt.5 "Totenkopf" according to sources
is he KIA in March 1943 or is that date when he got MIA? And managed he to get back
to Germany after the war? Why I ask is that I have found a Herbert Biesold which all the dates
confirms that it is him, but he is still alive. So it makes me a bit confused.

Why this is possibly is that I have a Hans Wissenbach in mind who got MIA during the war, and everyone thought
that he was dead but in the 50´s he got back to Germany, but he got severe wounds during the war and was Kriegsblind,
and in one old number of Der Freiwillige does Wissenbahc thank all of the Comrades who helped him in Soviet Captivity
or as he wrote "without my friends I wouldn´t have manage 14 days in the Camps". His rank was S-Ustuf and was in 15./SS-T.I.R.1 (I think )

Best regards,

Georg
A long time ago I asked if any had info on this Officer SS-Ustuf Herbert Biesold, I have now checked around and it seems to be that he survived the war, but ended the war as POW. But even the Volksbund has him listed as KIA in 1943. Is there anyone who has got any more info on this Officer of the SS-T.-Div.

Many thanks

Best regards,

Georg

Georg - It appears that your information about the Herbert Biesold, who was an officer in the W-SS, is mistaken. There are multiple documents in his Personalakte that confirm that he died from wounds in March 1943 in a military hospital in Kiev. Here is one such document.
