Mike Miller thinks this photo may have been discussed before, but I cannot find it using the search facility. Does anyone know who he is please? Photo probably taken in Italy.
Thanks,
Max.

Hello Max,

It´s me who have posted this photo before, I have the original and still no one has identified this SS-Ostubaf.
And yes the text back on the photo says that the photo is in Italy 1943 and the negotiation between Italian forces
and German forces (LSSAH) the terms how and when they will disarm.

Despite the fact that Erich Olboeter was promoted Stubaf not earlier than 1944, I think the face looks similar.
But I know that he can't be the man in the photo, because of the later promotion.

Hi

As seen in the thread I quoted above, this shot is taken in Italy, and he is

Quartiermeisterabteilung Ib 2. Generalstabsoffizier, Obersturmbannführer Stoltz

Sorry Stoveb, Georges Jerome is right.

It is SS-Ostubaf. (21.6.43) Hans-Joachim Schiller, Kdr. I./SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt.1/LSSAH.

See the following: "Sepp Dietrich -Kommandeur Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler und seine Maenner"
Between pages 128-129 (Picture Nr.6)

"Dietrich's Warriors" By Peter Mooney Page 157 (Two pictures)

"Leibstandarte im Bild" By Rudolf Lehmann Page 204 (Top picture, on the left, Div,Adj.)

"Waffen-SS Commanders" By Mark Yerger Page 142 Vol.I (Upper picture far right)

Hi

I stand corrected, this is Schiller, unfortunately he is not listed as a Obersturmbannführer in Lehmann until 1944, hence my confusion.

Thanks
Steve
