SS-Obersturmführer Dr. Willibald Dittmann - LSSAH

SS-Obersturmführer Dr. Willibald Dittmann is identified as IVb,III./SS-Panzergrenadier Regiment 2 of the LAH in December 1944 on page 143 of “Die Liebstandarte Band IV/2” and “ and on page 317 of Patrick Agte’s Peiper book. There is no SS Personalakte on this man in the NARA microfilm nor have I seen his name in any period documents. Who can provide more personal details about Dr. Willibald Dittmann?

In the A -.Z officer list in “Führerliste ....” I mistakenly identified SS-Obersturmführer Alfred Dittmann, 18.11.1906, as IVb,III./SS-Panzergrenadier Regiment 2 of the LAH in December 1944. This Dittman is confirmed as still being assigned to KL.Mauthausen as late as 28.10.1944 and was not a medical doctor.

Hello John,

I don't know anything more about this officer of course but I just wanna ask the following??

Did Willibald Dittmann succeeded Fritz Breme as IVb with III/SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 2??? Because according to my notes Breme was IVb from 15-9-44 till 1-45.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi John,
in Westemeiers book on Peiper he's mentioned as a German doctor from the SPW battalion
who stayed behind at La Gleize with the wounded 23.12.44.Maybe he could be found through pow reports?
Best Jamie
