I just had his DOB, his SS-number and the fact that he served in S-Polizei-Regiment 3 in September 1941 as an Ustuf.
I looked for him in 'Die Personen-Lexikon der NSDAP' but he's not mentioned there.

So I can't help you any further.

Can't speak for Jan-Willem since I simply don't know but speaking for myself, I'm just collectiing as much info as possible about all SS-officers. So no special interest for one particular person, just collecting info about all of them....
So when you have some more info about Walter Bormuth, I only can hope that you wanna share it with Jan-Willem and me.

I became interested because of my interest in HJ-Div.HJ and also that Bormuth was one of the few senior officers who survived the heavy battles (Pz.Rgt.12 "HJ") of B.o.B. during December 1944. Meyers book doesn't give any more info and my own files he is also a mystery. Reynolds book about I.SS.Corps just give some minor info.

you will find informations and a very nice portrait of Walther Bormuth as officer (SS-Ostuf.?) in the Cazenave's book about the Panzerdivision Hitlerjugend (tome 2, SS-Panzer-Regiment 12), published by Marnes Editions. I believe that you can find this book still on Amazon.fr ?
