Can anyone confirm/amend/correct the following information that I have regarding the career of SS-Staf Edwin Jung, please:

Born: 11/1/07 (Westerhausen)
SS NO: 255,916
NSDAP NO: 347,968
Ustuf: 15/10/35
Staf: 20/4/44
1935: Doctor at Columbia-Haus KL
1936-37: Camp Surgeon, Dachau
1938-39: San.Abt., Inspn der SS-TV und KL
1939-42: Regimentsarzt (IVb), SS-Totenkopf-Artillerie-Regt.
1942-43: Divisionsarzt (IVb), SS-Kavallerie-Division
1943-44: Divisionsarzt, 9th SS-Pz.Div. "Hohenstaufen" (succeeded Jencio, replaced by Skalka)
1944: Korpsarzt, 2nd SS-Pz.Korps
1945: Korpsarzt, 13th SS-Armee-Korps

Furthermore, a few questions:

1) Who succeeded him as Divisionsarzt, SS-Kavallerie-Division?
2) Who did he succeeded as Korpsarzt, 2nd SS-Pz.Korps, and who replaced him?
3) Who did he succeeded as Korpsarzt, 13th SS-Armee-Korps?
4) He survived the war and I believe that he was brought to trial. What was his sentence and when did he die?

All contributions will be gratefully received. Thanks.

Thanks Phil. I was a bit dubious about the 2nd SS-Panzer-Korps bit. I got the information from the July 1944 Waffen-SS DAL, which states "Hohenstaufen" (gestr.), SS-FHA (hs.), then Korpsarzt II.SS-Pz.Korps. I am assuming that this was only on paper, and that he actually succeeded Hock as Korpsarzt 13th SS-AK in November 1944?

When I'm correct Mark made a typing-error here. I think this should be: November 19, 1934 to March 31, 1935 with the 16. SS-Standarte instead of what Mark wrote down here....

And when I'm correct Dr. Oscar Hock succeeded E. Jung as Korpsarzt II. SS-Panzer-Korps.

And when you guys say SS-Kavallerie-Division I guess you all mean the 'Florian Geyer'.

Who can tell me a bit more about this Dr. Eugen Mittelberger.
I did a search on this forum, nothing, did one through Google and all I did find was a Dr. Otto Mittelberger, SS and DKiG. So I don't know if these two are one and the same but I couldn't find anything else....

Thanks,
Mike

I corrected my date typo, the SS-Kavallerie Division existed for some time before having the honor title "Florian Geyer." It formed in June 1942 and did not get its honor title until March 1944. It was designed SS-Kavallerie Division and then the 8.SS-Kavallerie Division before "Florian Geyer" was added.

Mittelberger was Sanitäts Kompanie Chef with the SS-Kavallerie Brigade, the Brigade IVb at the time was Sturmbannführer Dr. Fritz Bader. Mittelberger held a similar post with the SS-Kavallerie Division and later when he became divisional IVb, 1.Sanitäts Kompanie Chef was Dr. Friedrich Alteneder (also a GC holder) who did interim IVb duties from January to March 1944 (between Jung and Mittelberger).

Mark,

When did Alteneder got his DKiG?

I'm waiting for your book on the Kav DK holders but there is a cock up with the mail order. They sent me the Nordland which I already have.
