There's some contradiction about his posts as CO from III. Abteilung and IV. Abteilung.
The Wiking Ruf-site for example says he was CO from IV. Abt. between July 1943 and March 45.

At another thread about him on this forum it's said he was CO III. Abteilung in June 44, http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... ht=wittich , but here Waffen-IDF tells us he did got the DKiG on 1-6-44 while being CO from IV. Abteilung. The Axis History Factbook also tells us he got the DKiG when he commanded IV. Abteilung: http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=9404

So is there someone who can tell us when precisly he commanded III. Abteilung and when he started to command the
IV. Abteilung????

And yes, there was a Sturmbannführer with the RSHA in 1941, that's what amongst others Wikipedia tells us:

But I think the mentioned Wittich here could be Werner Wittich, for sure not Oskar.
There was also a Rudolf Wittich but he was SS-Ustuf d.R. der Waffen-SS and most likely also not the RSHA-officer.
