Lager Tuschin-Wald in the Warthegau

Does anyone have any information on the camp at Tuschin-Wald, just south of Lodz? I understand it was a resettlement centre for VOMI and the commandant in 1940 was SS-Hauptsturmführer Klose. After 1941 it was used for resettling people from Bessarabia and on one website it is described as a "holiday camp for Jews."

Max,

surely you mean http://www.ahnenforschung-bauer.de/img/ ... ba08.shtml
... sogen. "Ferienlager" für Juden - Auffanglager ...
this is a reception camp, only a cynically so-called holiday camp

Dieter,
Actually, the literal translation is holiday camp. Do you have any information?

I found a Polish website with some info on the town of Tuszyn and its history:
http://www.canna.pl/tuszyn/index.php?pa ... alendarium
Since 1927, the part of the town Tuszyn that was called Tuszyn Las / Tuschin Wald was developed into a garden town with recreational homes and a sanatory. By the time of 1930, 150 recreational homes had been built. The majority of the owners were Jewish.
The camp Tuschin Wald is described as a resettlement centre for Germans from Wolhynia and Bessarabia during 1940 - 1945. 8000 workers are reported having been camp prisoners. They were used for building roads and fortification.
On another Polish website, the camp in Tuschin Wald is mentioned as a reception camp for minors. For march 1944, it is stated that a group of 30 children arrived from KZ Stutthof.
