#1

Post by Jan-Hendrik » 03 Mar 2008, 07:28

At the moment I have a problem with his assignement to SS-AA 1, according to Mr. Moore's Führerliste he was as Hstuf. in April 1942 with this unit, but our dear Timo, THE expert on this unit onour planet, does not have anything on him in his files...what really happened? Was he proposed to be sent to this unit , but the decision was cancelled
`
Who can help in this case?

What I have collected on Syr's career can be found here

The following documents from Syr's Personalakte will confirm his association with the Aufkl.Abt. LSSAH.

Here's a more detailed explantion. Syr was the military commander of the Sonder Kommando Künsberg of the Foreign Office (Auswärtigen Amtes "AA") . For a period of time in 1942 Syr merged his force with that of the Aufkl.Abt. LSSAH and earned the promotion recommendation above from the commander of the Aufkl.Abt. LSSAH.

The entry for June 1942 in Syr's Dienstlaufbahn would appear to confirm his official membership in the LSSAH at the time.

in the SS-SdKomamndo Künsberg Syr was... in the Vorkommando "Smolensk" in the part Einsatzkommando "Nürnberg".

The Sonderkomamndo Künsberg was only some times used for fighing campaigns of the W-SS.. so on the 13.12.1941 for "zur Erkundung und Aushebung des kriegspolitischen Materials in Gegend Gomel (Surash)" (see Kdo.Befehl Nr. 31, Prot. K 1/8 293/42 BAP, Film 6311 und: Prot. K II/c 337/42g; PA-R-27575)

Under the name "Unternehmen maulwurf" started this campaign on 01.02.1942 under the leadership of SS-HStuf. Syr. Started in Brest over Sluzk-Bobruisk-Gomel-Surash.
