Hi, I have just stumbled onto this forum. My grandfather, Dr. Friedrich Otto Otte was transferred into the Waffen SS-Veterinär-Kompanie 6 from -72 - 1. Vet.Ers.Abt. 3. I would appreciate as much information about these units and their movements, members, etc. If anyone is interested, I have several original photographs of Kompanie 6 serving in Finland, Christmas, 1943 which I would be happy to scan for you.

Heya, I know this is quite an old post, but I just came across it. I believe my grandfather may have been in the same "Veterinär-Kompanie 6" and would be extremely interested in the photo you mentioned!

An SS Vet.Ers.Abt. Radom, GG [Generalgouvernment] Konziuskya=Tr.
Gemäss Befehl der SS Kav.Div. ist der SS Sturmmann Josef Alder, geboren 3.12.1905, der in den nächsten Tagen dort eintrifft, UK zu stellen. Die Entlassung des Alder ist umgehend in die Wege zu leiten.

At this same thread, Veterinarian Officers der Waffen-SS, I did find the following:
From the KTB's of SS-KavBrg./KavDiv. I have the following vetenarian offircers:
For Reitende Abt./SS-Kav.Rgt.1:
- Ustuf. Dr. Hans Schiefer as RgtsVeterinär
- SS.Hscha. Dr. Adolf Ahrendt as Hilfsveterinär
Dr.Adolf Ahrend was promoted to Ostuf. on 20.4.42 and was Vet.Offz. at SS-Kav.Rgt.2 from 20.11.1942 on.

Most likely both persons are identical but still some questions.
What was his correct name, Arendt or Ahrendt ??
And what was his correct Ostuf promodate, 20-11-1942 or 20-04-1942 ??
And is this his correct DoB and correct SS-number: 11-05-1910 and 216.423 ??

These two radio messages dated 14 Feb 1945 were intercepted and deciphered by GC&CS Bletchley Park (and available at UK National Archives, HW 16/43, GPD 4009):
An Pol.waffenschule Dresden-Hellerau. Geheim!
Oberstabsveterinär der Pol., Dr Marung, Heimatpferdelazarett der Orpo Hermannstadt, hat sofort Stelle als Div.veterinär der 35.SS Pol.gren.div. in Dresden-Hellerau zu übernehmen.
Heimatpferdelazarett übernimmt bis auf weiteres Major Veterinär Dr Monye.

An Pol.waffenschule Dresden-Hellerau.
Unterveterinär Mamut Ablajew wird sofort zur 35.SS Pol.gren.div. in Dresden-Hellerau abgeordnet. Meldung dort innerhalf 48 Stunden.

A small addition to the post #206 bij Steve248. I assume that the mentioned Major Dr. Monye as successor to Oberstabsveterinär Dr Marung was the followig; Dr. Gustaaf Adolf Marie de Monye , born 25.04.1906 in Zutphen/Netherlands and the (as far as I Know) highest ranking dutchman in the German Police. He had been a Major in the dutch statepolice and head of the Veterinary Department of the dutch State Police snce August 1, 1943. Also he was a member of the Zentralinstitut für Hundeforschung. Having seen service in 1944 with Kampfgruppe von Gottberg(something to do with Minenhunden) he was according to the HSSPF Nordwest Rauter in line for a promotion to Onderstormleider/Untersturmführer in the Germanic SS in the Netherland. He joined the German Police on September 1, 1944 and was first attached to Polizeiwaffenschule II. Later he was in the Heimatpferdelazarett der Ordnungpolizei in Rathenow. The fact he was temporary commander of the Heimatpferdelazarett Hermannstadt is new to me. Thansk for that snippet.
