Heydrich's BPP adjutant from 1934
Heydrich's BPP adjutant from 1934
I came across this photo at BPK collection. It appears to be from the series taken on 11.04.1934. Who is the adjutant on the left? And what is the uniform he wears - the earth-brown service uniform used by Sturmbann Dachau and apparently also utilized by SS members Bayerische Politische Polizei?

This man has been variously identified as Albert NAUJOCKS by several published sources - Andre Brissaud in his book "The Nazi Secret Service" to name one. I'm not certain it's him though so wait for the "experts" to come forward.
Re: Heydrich's BPP adjutant from 1934
I don't think he is Naujocks. His looks are very different compared to these POW mugshots of Naujocks:
Source: Foro Segunda Guerra (original source is quoted as United Kingdom National Archives. M15 Release Material. Document KV 2/280)
Naujocks had more "fleshy" face and his eyebrows were thicker. Overall his head seems quite round where this man has a narrow face and rather angular occiput (shape of the back of the head). Also the forehead and shape of the nose differ too much.

The first photo was taken 1934, the mugshots were taken in 1946. 12 years after.
Is ALFRED Helmut Naujocks, not Albert. Is the same man in boths photos.
Best,

I am still not convinced. Could some of our in-house Heydrich experts comment this? . Interestingly one of the photos of these series (Heydrich in his BPP offices at Wittelsbach palace) appeared in Heydrich biography pt. 1 by Max Williams but the caption did not identify this man, IIRC.

The man in the Wittelsbacher Palais photo is not Alfred Naujocks although his appearance is very similar. He is often captioned incorrectly as Naujocks. However, I was unable to identify his correct identity as the records of adjutancy for 1934 were very sketchy and Heydrich had more than one adjutant, which was the norm. He was a member of the Bavarian Political Police at the time of this photo.

It's not.von thoma wrote:I always thought that it was Naujocks.

Just a thought, but could the unidentified adjutant in the photo be Walter Potzelt? He was SS-Obersturmführer in 1933 and was promoted directly to Sturmbannführer by April 1934. I have never seen a photo of him.

Re: Heydrich's BPP adjutant from 1934
The photo is one of a series from a photo shoot in Heydrich's office (possibly at the Wittelsbacher Palais in Munich) during a single day, probably in early 1934. There are about a dozen photos surviving and the adjutant appears in several. There is also a third, heavy set, unidentified male in the series.

The columns and the tall gates, identify it as a palatial building.Max Williams wrote: (possibly at the Wittelsbacher Palais in Munich) Max.

I had never seen these photos from the series before...
Could the man in civilian clothes be Alfred Naujocks this time ?
Thanks.

Man on the left looks like Anton Dunckern.
