He seems to have had an interesting biography.
born 12.10.1913 in Berlin
SS-No.: 120026 NSDAP no. 4363178
Married
Service:
1942/43 Div. Florian Geyer
1943 Sachsenhausen
1944 Auschwitz
1945 Bergen-Belsen (source for all the above: The Camp Men)
died: 09.05.1945 Süderhastedt (source StA Köln)
quite some info on him can be found. Dr. Fritz Klein mentions him frequently in his interrogations concerning Bergen Belsen (http://www.bergenbelsen.co.uk). In the papers concerning Sachsenhausen that I have here, he is at least occasionally mentioned.
Is there anybody who has already studied his biography in detail? Was Sachsenhausen his first camp assignment? After that he obviously ended up in the worst imaginable places... Under what circumstances did he die? Suicide?
Best Regards Tilman

Just noticed that Dixon has more info on him in "Commanders of Auschwitz", mostly about his brief service in Auschwitz and about his family:
Auschwitz: early Dec. 1944 until evacuation (BIIf). What sense did such a short command to Auschwitz immediately before evacuation make?
Married in 1934, 3 children which included twins.
