Help please with search for SS grandfather

#1

Post by Cleverpuss » 26 Aug 2010, 02:50

I am doing a family tree for my best friend, and her grandfather was rumored to be SS. There are photos of him in a uniform, behind a desk with all the flags, etc. But the photos have been destroyed when grandma died, so we don't know what unit or group he was associated with. I have his name, but no date of birth. He was tall, extremely thin and with red hair. He was supposedly captured by the Russians, and went to a work camp for some time. He returned home to Germany, and died years later by hitting his head in a swimming pool. His name was Joiner Theodore Reifenberger. His wife divorced him, and remarried. The new husband adopted the two kids, and changed their last name, and they immigrated to the United States. That is all the information I have on him. Thank you for any help you can give.

I don't think so, since I am sure of the name. But thank you all the same! :)
