Post by coburg22 » 23 Mar 2011, 20:23

Hello,

Does someone by chance have a list of Kdrs. for the SS-Ersatz-Bataillons? I have done a search and found very little both here and the Waffen-SS sub forum.

Thanks in Advance,

James

Hi James,

I can't contribute much, I just know that SS-Stubaf. Dr. Helmut Wolf (born Oct. 17, 1907 in Düsseldorf) was head of the SS-San.Ers.Btl. in Oranienburg around 1942/43.

Best

If you have enough patience, the fourth volume of my series on the Waffen-SS (Dictionnaire de la Waffen-SS) will contain a whole chapter (around 40 to 50 pages in A4 size) concerning the SS-Ersatz-Einheiten. Commanders are to be listed, of course, and many units will be detailed up to company commanders and staff officers as well. It will be published at the end of the year. I am currently writing the captions for the photographs which will illustrate the book.
