Hummittzsch was leiter Abteilung III (SD) at Brussels. He was in connection with belgian collaborationist parties he was close to Van de Wiele (De Vlag) but not Elias (VNV). He was in direct connection with RSHA to Berlin. He sent beginning 44 report against Falkenhausen in regard on his hostage policy.
