I know he also served with the Waffen-SS as a SS-Hauptsturmführer d.R. Can somebody tell me with which units or branches he served??

Hello Fred,
Thank you very much. I already had quite something about this officer but all the extras mentioned here are more then welcome, it completes the picture even more.
Regarding his Waffen-SS service, I think that his work at the SS-WVHA and the SS-Oberabschnitt 'Böhmen-Mähren' was part of that service. Thanks for checking it anyway, it's much appreciated.

By the way. I also have him as CO from II. Sturmbann with 1. SS-Standarte between 19-5-1933 and ?? Also the SS-DAL 1934/Sturmhauptführer has him as Führer from II./1 So he should have held this post before becoming CO from IV. Reserve-Sturmbann. But I've SS-Standartenführer Johann Maier as CO from IV. Reserve-Sturmbann from 1-1-1934 till ?? 1935, so what's correct here???

The SS-Personalbefehl Nr.12 (06.04.1934) shows Heinrich Gerner as "F. IV/1" m.W.v. 31.01.1934. For Maier, it has "Führer der SS-Reserve i. Bereich der 1.Stand." m.W.v. 01.03.1933. That's all I can tell you.

I must have it wrong or the info was displayed wrong. Maier was CO from 1. SS-Standarte from 9-11-1933 till 1-1-1934 so most likely he was CO from IV. Sturmbann in 1933. Or I must read it wrong what the SS-DAL 1934/SS-Standartenführer says: F. Res. Stuba 1

Hi Mike

I believe that "IV. Sturmbann" and "Reserve Sturmbann" are the same. Its just that the SS was re-structured around this period and all SS-Standarten, including SS-Sonder-Einheiten were scaled to I, II and III Sturmbann with the IV Sturmbann re-named becoming the Reserve Sturmbann.
