Identification At Reich Veterans Day

#1

Post by AlifRafikKhan » 14 May 2012, 12:41

Reichs Veterans Day. R to L seated: Press Chief Dietrich, the Duke of Coburg-Gotha, ? standing, seated: Gau Leader Weinrich, Hitler, Raeder, Brauchitsch, Himmler, von Epp, and Martin Bormann.
In my opinion: 1st row far left (sitting) is Karl Wolff; 2nd row 3rd from left is Fritz Haselmayr or Franz Halder; and 2nd row 2nd from right is Rudolf Schmundt. At least two unidentifed SS-Oberführer and one SS-Brigadeführer visible in this Hugo Jaeger picture. Who're they? Another IDs also welcomed...

The Oberführer at the front has been identified as Max von Behr.

This is SA-Obergruppenführer and char. Generalmajor Hans Georg Hofmann. Also, visible to von Behr's immediate right, is SA-Obergruppenführer and Reichskriegsoperferführer Hanns Oberlindober.

The SS-officer on the right looks like Otto Dietrich.

Wilhelm Reinhard attended this event in SS-Gruf. uniform (see page 85 of Leaders of the SS & German Police, Volume I)-- but I can't find anyone in this photo who is a definite match for him. Maybe the SS-Gruf. between Breithaupt and Schmundt, although I can't make out a Pour le Merite and initially took him for Julius Schaub.

Re: Peiper - Well spotted!
Could that be August Heissmeyer seated beside him?
I also see General Hiroshi Ōshima in the second photo.
Michal: Thanks for setting me sttraigh, re: Reinhard.

Well, scratch Heissmeyer- I think the man next to Peiper is an Oberführer. By rights it should be Ludolf Hermann von Alvensleben, but he has too much ribbon and tin on his uniform (can't make out anything specific- possible EK I), indicating he's a WW I veteran.
