People who have an interest in the events that occurred at the Château d'Audrieu on June 8th may also be interested in an allegation made by author George Bernage that it was not Gerd Bremer in Command during the executions but that it was Max Wünsche. I have started another thread to cover this allegation and to recount the time line from witness testimony of the events that day..

SS-Ostuf. Willy Peter Hansmann, 12. SS-Div. HJ
Re: SS-Ostuf. Willy Peter Hansmann, 12. SS-Div. HJ
There is evidence that Hansmann was held in Allied custody but escaped before he could be questioned about this case. The details below come from the investigation team in the form of a supplementary brief dated September 1947. There is no evidence contained in the Audrieu files of any allegations made against Hansmann that he was a participate in the shooting of the POWs, nor are there any details of his recapture. By August 1948, the case had been dropped against all suspected culprits.
You will note that his first names have been incorrectly stated here (a possible confusion with another of the suspects) . But this is about Willy Hansmann as his name was listed correctly on the first page of the document.
