SS-Sturmbannführer Wirtz (WVHA Amt C III)

This man was a civilian specialist employed for his Technical knowledge by WVHA where he replaced Stubaf Rudolf Schmincke as Chief of Amt C III (Technische Fachgebeite).

I have no real info about him as he is not in SS-DALs, but I find an SS-Stubaf Wirtz serving in Regt Kaltofen in Feb 1945 and I can very little on that man either. John Moore shows this Willi Wirtz as born 19 April 1899 but has no other details and no SS number.

Please can anybody help, I am surprised to have 2 Stubaf with the same name and hardly any info.

All I've found is the following extract from Jan Erik Schulte - Zwangsarbeit und Vernichtung: Das Wirthschaftsimperium der SS, Page 281;

"Im November 1941 erteilte SS-Sturmbannführer Wirtz vom Amt II des Hauptamtes Haushalt und Bauten der Firma J. A. Topf und Söhne aus Erfurt den Auftrag, 32 Einäscherungskammern nach Mogilew zur dortigen Bauinspektion zu liefern."

I can find a Christian Wirtz with lots of information - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Wirth He was also a SS-Sturmbannführer with the SS-# 354,464
