Greetings! Other photo from this serie was published in Ullrich's band 1 and signed "Fieldpost office at the Economy Battalion 3". Also these photos published in Totenkopf by Charles Trang but without name of this officer. It could be SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Hennicke or Sperling

He does look very similar doesn't he Andrey and his ear looks right - I believe that is a recognized comparison point, his chin looks right and beneath his eyes. Thank you. I have seen that photo captioned as 1942 Russia, it is a Bundesarchiv photo so probably from a dated sequence (I believe it is in one of Bruce Quarrie's books)

So quite possibly the Verwaltungs/Admin officer. thanks Gunter.

His KVK1mSch would fit with that position or otherwise a Werkstatt/Engineer officer maybe ?

Sperling was there in 1943 (and possibly in 1942 ?), he was born 1 Jan 1914 and had SS # 83 427 and NSDAP # 3 958 916, he was already an SS-Sturmann with III/Germania in April 1935 so likely an Old Campaigner entitled to a Winkel. Sperling was at Mauthausen 1938/41 as Admin Officer, I shall have to examine photos of visits for that period.

Both pictures show then-SS-Hauptsturmführer Siegfried Müller, later SS-Sturmbannführer and regimental commander with the 12th SS Panzer Division.

Hello, Westerwälder. What is your source to ID in both images Siegfried Müller. I saw many IDs at different forums that it's him but no one can't say what source he used to ID this future RKT.

Hello all,
As I cannot stand it anymore: all pictures show SS-Hst. Pius Hohenester. At the time (1941/1942) Chef of the 1. Werkstattkompanie (Nachschubdienste SS-T-Division)
Best wishes,
Bogo

This is not Siegfried Müller but Friedrich Hartjenstein. Here is a portrait of him from the Yad Vashem archives.

Hi
Please believe me, it's Hohenester.
As for Siegfried Müller and Hartjenstein: They only joined the SS in 1938 and therefore were not entitled to wear the "Alte Kämpfer" chevron shown on the left arm of the officer in question. Therefore they can be ruled out.
Best wishes,
Bogo

Well Pius Hohenester does fit the bill, thank you Bogo, his age is about right (born 25 Dec. 1910) and he was SS-Ostuf./Hstuf. from 1940-1944 with Nachsch.3 before becoming Chef 1/Inst.Abt.3
