Georges,

Was it Brückle or Brückler?

I have a SS-Ustuf Brückler coming from Stapo Berlin to Ast Tours in Sept 1943, then to KdS Angers in Oct 1943.

Hello Steve,

not clear.
Bernhard Brunner (Der Frankreich Komplex) list Anton Brückle like Stell. KdS Angers (deputy to Ernst) involved in a trial
Dominique Sigaud (Le piège des Loups) mention Georg BrÜckle at Tours then Angers. And write that he was former chief of GFP Tours.

Georges, Dylan

I did think of Georg Brückle.
In a British war crimes investigation SS-Oschaf Georg Brückle listed with Kommando Ernst, later re-designated z.b.V. Kommando VI, in France. The Kommando participated in the killing of captured SAS men at La Grande Fosse and St Die, France, in Sept 1944.

He was not captured so not interrogated by the British.

I did link SS-Oschaf Georg Brückle with the very one listed by Dylan; but a SS-Oschaf is not very likely to have been Stellv. KdS.

Can Dylan give any additional information to confirm the Georg Brückle was a KrimKomm and SS-Ustuf?

quite sure it's the same man.

I can't imagine there is 2 "Georges Brückle" who served with Ernst first in Angers then in his z.b.V. Kommando VI Under command of BdS Elsass Isselhorst as part of the "Aktion Waldfest 1" in the area of Saales.

I'm just reading the biography of Aksel Larsen, leader of the DKP, Danmarks Kommunistiske Parti, who was arrested and later interrogated by Hermann Span of the Gestapo. It seems Hermann Span was lend out by the RSHA to interrogate Larsen especially. He returned to Germany after the interrogations were terminated in Feb. 1943

There could be several reasons why Span went to Copenhagen to interview/interrogate Larsen. Firstly it should be noted that Span worked for RSHA IV A! which dealt with Kommunismus and Marxismus and spent his career, so far, in this section. So why should Span be sent to Copenhagen.
1. Possibly in Feb 1943 there was not a suitable IV A1 interrogator in Copenhagen.
2. RSHA IV A1 wanted more information, or more specific information, from Larsen than hitherto reported and needed one of their own specialists to extract it.
What was the fate of Aksel Larsen?

Larsen was the leader of the DKP in Denmark, the biggest catch for any SD man and any Dansih policeman at the time (unfortunately). Larsen had evaded capture for more or less a year (since Barbarossa) I imagine they wanted a specialist to interrogate Larsen, and they got one. After quite some time Larsen broke down and gave them his tailored version and contacts. In the process the Germans made an exception from their rules and beat up Larsen's courier and later wife so bad she suffered from the consequences many years later. Up to that point it was not the custom of the Germans to mistreat the resistance physically, then they confronted Larsen and the courier. After Larsen's confession he was taken from prison to Horserød lejren and later on they took him to Dreibergen and Sachsenhausen and Neuengamme. Eventually he was taken back to DK by the white busses after the Kommandant was bribed with four liters of petroleum, even though he had strict orders not to release Larsen. Back in DK from Sweden Larsen became a member of the liberation cabinet as minister without portfolio. Later on Larsenleft DKP and founded a new socialist party: Socialistisk Folkeparti
