Hello Toten39, I do not want to resurface this kind of discussion once more but I don't agree that photos with copyrights being posted anywhere on the net. I buy photos with my own money and it costs me a lot of money to make my books. My photo of Laackmann was bought from the Bundesarchiv and the copyrights (plus the digital copy) were well above 50 Euros. It's so easy to scan photos from books and to spread them on the net, much more easy than to find the original ones ! But this is the way it is going nowadays ...

It's my mistake. I have apologize to historians that I gave this scan from book ("Tiger.."). I'm really sorry and if it's possible pls delete my posts here.

I see nothing in Laackman's Personalakten to indicate a DKiG…also, he is not listed in the Patzwall/Scherzer book "Das Deutsche Kreuz 1941-1945." Below are the only awards I could find for him (sorry, no dates):

Laackmann, Anton
Born: 08.05.1910 in Köln
NSDAP Nr.: 1 292 031(joined 01.08.1932)
SS Nr.: 37 141
SS-Anw.: 01.06.1932; SS-Mann: 10.05.1933; SS-Junker: 05.04.1934; SS-St.Oberjunker: 20.12.1934; SS-Ustuf.: 20.04.1935; SS-Ostuf.: 09.11.1936; SS-Hstuf.: 30.01.1939; SS-Stubaf.: 30.01.1943; SS-Ostubaf.: 01.09.1944

1939 Eisernes Kreuz II.Klasse
1939 Eisernes Kreuz I.Klasse
(Infanterie ?) Sturmabzeichen
Verwundetenabzeichen, 1939 in Schwarz (he was wounded 10.1941 and again 1.1945)
Medaille "Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42" (Ostmedaille)
SA-Sportabzeichen in Bronze
Reichssportabzeichen in Bronze
Totenkopfring der SS
Ehrendegen des Reichsführers-SS
Julleuchter der SS

Hello, Charles!
I founded in your books photo with Laackmann and have to say that in your 4rd volume of "Dictionnaires Waffen SS.." there is something other photo from the same serie in Schwere Pz. Abt. section. It's really my last posts at this forum with scans from books. All men on photo looked in to the camera.

Hello Andrey,

I have nothing against you in particular. At least, you did buy books which were expensive, so this is rather positive, in my opinion. This is better than waiting in front of one's laptop, waiting for the others to do the job.

It has been suggested on another site that he was Adjutant to Martin Bormann from November 6, 1940 to June 25, 1941, when he was appointed commander of the "Totenkopf" Stug. Batterie. Can anyone confirm this? He was commanding the 11. /SS-TIR 3 as of May 1940 and was replaced at that post by Pellin, but when exactly? He was also assigned to "Stab RfSS" as of December 1938, but can anyone state in what capacity? Thank you.

Shane,

Anton Laackmann was the first CO of 11./SS-TIR 3 all the way until November 1940 when he became Martin Bormann's Adjutant. However, his successor was not Gerhard Pellin but Ernst Rädeke who held the command until September 1941 when he was WIA and replaced by Pellin. Pellin was leading the I/12./SS-TIR 3 before this assingment.
