SS Officer ID
SS Officer ID
I am wondering who this SS officer is. He appears to be relateively senior given the car he is chaffeured in and the bullion stripe on his arm.
The photos are part of a series taken by Siegfried Lauterwasser and titled "A. Rosenberg's Visit to Unteruhldingen - October 16, 1937" which can be found in its entirety here:

Fred,
at that time(16.10.1937) Croneis was an member of the SA. He joined the SS 09.11.1938 as SS-Brigadeführer. (He was never an SS-Oberführer).

Re: SS Officer ID
Could be Walter Stein, at that time frame Führer des SS-Abschnitts XXIX (Konstanz)?.(Unteruhldingen lies in the vicinity of the Bodensee/Konstanz)

It's not a bullion stripe.and the bullion stripe on his arm.
Some papers are stored on his right cuff, a very common practice.

Yep your right that penant on the car seems to match up perfectly with him being Führer des SS-Abschnitts XXIX. ThxAndrey wrote:Looks like Stein to me...
