On the site of “the Bundesarchiv” I found the following:
Korvettenkapitän a.D. Hellmuth (Hellmuth must probably be Hermann) Ehrhardt.- Sicherheitspolizeiliche Überwachung der politischen Haltung und Betätigung
Enthält u.a.:
Anyone ever seen these pages?. Was Ehrhardt ever promoted to SS-Gruppenführer?.
Thanks in advance.
HM

Hermann Ehrhardt was never SS member. He don't appear in the various SS-Personalbefehl from 1934.

He was no regular SS member but they had their own SS unit: Brigade Ehrhardt im Verband der SS. It was dissolved after June 1934.

I know he isn’t listed in any of the official SS-lists.
But there must have been serious considerations to make him an “SS-Gruppenführer” according to the note made by Wolff. It would be very interesting to know if anybody seen this entry, and whether or not it has an question mark behind it. Also the rejection made by Göring almost 6 months later would indicate that at the least an SS-entry by Ehrhardt during that timeframe would have been likely. Just some food for thoughts.
I was hoping someone could post the original pages from the “Persönlicher Stab RFSS”.
