Post by Georges JEROME » 05 Feb 2016, 23:22

Hello,

on a site dedicated to Police Administration Stettin, I found strange infos upon holder of duties :

SA-Ogruf Wilhelm Jahn 1.2.1939 - 12.2.42
Dr. Brüchl 13.2.42 - 12.4.43
C. Grundey 13.4.43 - 4.45

1° never heard of this Dr. Brüchl up today ????
2° C. Grundey was kom 4.1943 - 3.44 then confirmed . What is his first name C. ?

thanks

Georges

Stettiner Adreßbuch 1943 had this entry:
Polizeipräsident Stettin 1943.jpg
Polizeipräsident Stettin 1943
Polizeipräsident Stettin 1943.jpg (70.24 KiB) Viewed 1101 times
So position was vacant and Regierungsrat Dr. Büechl was a Ständiger Vertreter. But I'm not so sure if this spelling is correct.
Perhaps it's Dr. Büchel?

According to the wonderful book "Uniformed Police forces of the Third Reich" by Phil and yourself, Grundey's name is Karl, SA Standartenführer and Oberregierungsrat.

Hi Ian,

Since 2006 new infos merged. Some corrections are needed.
I found this info on a polish site : The last president of the police in Szczecin, C. Grundey, recounts in his diary course and the situation after the heavy air raids.book (Feuersturm über Stettin) .
for a further work, I update and check infos of 343 PP/PD including acting PP/PD.

According to Carl Grundey diaries, he was asked to become a president of the police during early morning 21st of April 1943 phone conversation (at 6am). It was right after 20/21 night bombardment of Stettin. Further he wrote, he left Berlin for Stettin at 10am on the 21st and arrived there around midday.

So he could not start on 13th as mentioned earlier in this topic?

So by chance I stumbled over this post while Looking up the writing on a stamp i got my hands on to see if I could find who actually used it. It has the writing "Polizeipräsident in Stettin" And something that looks like "gott mit uns" in the middle.
Would this stamp have been belonged to any of these men?

I've added a mirrored picture of it for readability.

I've a number of document with headlineS and stamps of Polizeipräsidenten/Polizeidirektoren.
There is no standard rules in documents for Polizeiverwaltung therefore it seems there is regulations for stamps .

A similar stamp indicateS they are both Police administrations of the State of Prussia (eagle of Prussia).

I have put online a photograph album that dates 1936 to
Polizeipräsidenten Kommandeur der Schutzpolizei Stettin, Oberstleutnant Otto Schumann that could be of interest to the thread.

http://www.militaria-archive.com/Albums ... index.html
Presentation photograph album for Kommandeur der Schutzpolizei Stettin, Oberstleutnant Otto Schumann, December 24th 1936.
