After the war Trenkle was arrested on 15 November 1945 in the Dachau main process in the context of the processes Dachauer held as war criminals by a U.S. military court and indicted on 13 December 1945 because of the "help and participation in the crimes in the Dachau concentration camp" with other co thirty-five to death by the strand convicted.
