Hello Steve and Mike, I am new here and am looking to find more information on the Heinrich Wiens you have referenced. Do you know where I might find more information on him like family tree type stuff, any marriages, brothers and their role/roles in the war etc. Any info helpful. Thanks.

Heinrich Wiens had a brother, Jakob, who served in the Waffen-SS.
Heinrich W has a Rasse- und Siedlungs file (A3343-RS series) available at US National Archives in College Park. They also have his SS-Officer file. Both files only available on microfilm.

Joseph Goebbels was awarded the Danzig Cross (presumably the first class) on November 29, 1939. Gauleiter Forster presented it to him on the occasion of his visit to the city. Source: "Völkischer Beobachter", Nov. 30, 1939.

Is this the Danzig Cross 1st class on Wilhelm Rediess's uniform?

Thank you for the information you posted to Dawie, I am the same person. You referenced the right person. I just re-stumbled upon this website after doing some reading on Herr Wiens. How did you know that there were files on them at the Archives?
