Oh please! Do you actually believe that yourself?

Is there an article on Hans Dorr's Knight's Cross in Das Schwarze Korps ? There is nothing about it in his personal files and nothing - apart from the date of attribution - in Krätschmer's book. For what feat did he earn his Ritterkreuz ?

hello Charles
here is a summary of the feat he earn his rk on 27/9/42
The following summer his company was at the head of the advancing troops in the Caucasus until the retreat, when, again leading the vanguard, was able to create a bridgehead on the river Kuban at Grigoripolnskaya, of which 3 August Dorr became just the commander. For many days, Hans was able to resist the assaults Soviet fighting strenuously in order not to lose the ground essential for the retreat, until the arrival of the infantry forces not permanently secured the passage.
For this action he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the September 27, 1942. archives "talk" to him ... Cards in the accounts of the actions ...

Hello Georges,

Thanks a lot for the link. In fact, it is an extract from the proposal for the Oak Leaves. It is rather unusual that such a proposal reminds the actions which had led to the attribution of the Knight's Cross. This is a document that I have but I did not have a look at it, thinking that it was just concerning the Oakleaves.
All the best,
Charles
