Same course as Weidinger. He was also Eicke´s adjutant for a couple of years. His grandfather was SS-Obfhr Hermann Baranowski Kommandant
of KL Sachsenhausen. If you buy Karin Orth´s book "Konzentrationslager SS" you will get a lot of info told to her by Hoppes son Jürgen.
The later Kommandant of Gross Rosen SS-Stubaf Hassebroek should attend the same course but failed in his first tests for becoming a SS Officer, but he managed to get into the second course.

Best reg.

Hi Georg..both Hoppe and Hassebroek had potentially bright futures as Waffen SS combat officers derailed by serious wounds on the northern Russian front in 1941-42; they had both won the EKI at a relatively early juncture of the war and had achieved company-level command assignments with the Totenkopfdivision and SS-Infanterie Regiment 9. Both officers had the resumes to achieve battalion-level or higher command if they had come out of the winter of 1941-42 "unscathed". Their injuries were evidently severe enough to preclude reassignment to a combat role at a later date and their prior experience in the pre-war SS-TV most likely caused them to be "snatched up" by the KL Inspectorate during a period when disciplined and competent leadership was needed in the camps to offset the various scandals that were surfacing at the time.

Who has some more info on:
SS-Hstuf Ernst Sette
SS-Hstuf Richard Reddig
SS-Ostuf Alfred Dittmann
SS-Ostuf Johannes Gäbler

They all worked in KL Stutthof and hopefully somebody can provide me with their DoB/birthplace, SS- and partynumber and other available info.

The RSHA established their weapons Lager at Stutthof in 1944. Was that integrated into the camp command structure or did it have a independent command? Also, when was Stutthof overrun?
