Hello Marcus,
I know it is not much, but better than nothing.

Reiner fell 27.08.1944 at Braila.

I have two pictures of him. The second one was brought to this forum by philmil in one of his posts.

Best wishes
Florian

Dear all

I have only one question: He was pulled out from the SS because of the SA-Blood Purge. But he was an SS-Man who was the relation of the SS to the SA and not an SA-Man. So what was the real reason of his put out from the NSDAP. Whas this something personal revenge or what ???

Greetings

Remember thatb at that time the SS was a part of the SA. Reiner and Robert Bergmann were both close to Ernst Rohm and as a result were considered tainted. So they were removed

Dear Philmil

Thank yopu very much for your intresting answer. I knew that the SS was at that time with the SA, but i did not know that they were very close. I thought that there was always a rivalty between both part of this organisation.

Greetings

Reiner was one of three men to carry the Blood Flag in the 1933 Munich Putsch commemorations.

He tried to get back into the SS but Himmler would not allow this. However, the Reichsführer did help him get into the Luftwaffe during the war. He died in Romania in 1944....
