Has anybody photographs of the issue of Illustrierter Beobachter from summer 1944, showing Max Wünsche in Normandy with bandaged head speaking to some grenadiers?

Hi Panzerass!
I think this is not exactly the pic you're looking for but maybe is another shot after or before the photo you are asking for. Could you confirm this?
Best regards.

Yes, Fangio, it is defintetly the same scenery. I look for the photographs which were published in the Illustrierter Beobachter. Unfortunately I don't know which issue it was.

This is the pic which made front page in the Illustrierter of the Voelkischer Beobachter ....
Hi Fangio !

By the way the man in the side car is Ostuf Rudolf Von Ribentropp ,son of the minister of foreign affairs and later to be a Ritterkreuztraeger .

Pic token by SS PK Woscidlo or Zwaeschel .

Hi Panzerass & Ostuf Charlemagne!
Some questions:
Is there any info on how Wünsche got wounded?
Is the man in the pic Hascha Willy Boigk (SS-PzGrRgt 25)? Sorry for the poor quality of the pic.

The man on the right in the Illustrieter Beobachter picture is also v. Ribbentrop. Although not clear you can make out his glasses.

FANGIO: There is information on how Wünsche get wounded.
He was just watching the Panthers of his 1. and 4. Kompanie at Villeneuve de Rots coming back from their attack on Bretteville on June 8/9 when a grenade hit the front plate of one Panther. It burst up into thousands of splinters and wounded Wünsche in the head (he got a concussion), another officer (Obersturmführer Chemnitz) got splinters from head to foot and Nehrlich (Untersturmführer from the Stab, SS-PzRgt 12) was severely wounded and died later on the way to the medics

Thanks for the info. Very interesting, I didn`t know about Nehrlich's death.

Panzerass : Pics: Actually no . I have a lot of pics of the same scenery ,mote than 10 ,same scenery ,short before and short after ...but this pic of Il.Beob. was token by SS PK Zschaechel (or a name alike) while lots of I have were token by SS PK Woscidlo . Some belong to the collection of standartenfuehrer Hubert Meyer .And I think the other ones are a mix from this sample of Illustrierte Beobachter and the Stutgarter Illustrierte published on the same date with lots of pics of this scenery by PK Woscidlo . Pics token near Bretteville .

Fangio : Hautscha Wihlelm Boigt was coming form the LSSAH and was ,within the 12.SS Panzerdivision ,chief of II platoon ,15th Co , SS Pzgr.rgt.25th...
