Kripo Officers - Łódź Ghetto Koscielny Square
Kripo Officers - Łódź Ghetto Koscielny Square
I am looking for information about any Kripo officers who worked inside the Koscielny Square station inside the Łódź (Litzmannstadt) Ghetto.
I understand that Walter Zirpins was the Criminal Police leader in Litzmannstadt during 190/41, but have not been able to locate any names, ranks or other information about Kripo officers who worked in the so-called "Red House" Kripo station in the Ghetto. Any information will be welcome.
Thank you.

Here's a photo of the Kripo building as it appears today, and the caption included on the site of origin. Again, any information about the German Kripo officers who ran this station - or who worked there in any capacity -will be appreciated.

Photo:In the building of Criminal Police (Kripo) at 8 Kościelna Street, nowadays there is a presbytery of the Ascension of Mary, the Holy Mother of God church. Here the Jews were interrogated.
A quote about the Kripo in the Łódź Ghetto from the Ghetto Fighter's House: http://www.gfh.org.il/
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in answering these or any of the other questions I posted earlier.
Any clues about the officers who worked here? Names, ranks, positions? Where were they housed when not on duty? The Lodz branch of the Kripo was located in the priests' offices in the Holy Virgin Church within the ghetto boundaries. They created an environment of terror among the inhabitants of the ghetto and dealt mainly with confiscating Jewish property.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in answering these or any of the other questions I posted earlier.

Kripo Litzmannstadt
My listing consists of Kripo officials who were posted on a professional or career basis to the Kripostelle Litzmannstadt. The Kripoleiter, and/or possibly the Admin Officer, would have the allocated the men to individual police station such as the one controlling the ghetto.
Survivor testimonies will name individial officials. The only ways of finding such rosters to the Ghetto police station will be from surviving official German documents.
Litzmannstadt Gestapo and Kripo officers were tried postwar by West German courts who will probably have interviewed every possible man who was posted there. In you have access to "Justiz und NS-Verbrechen" publ. by Amsterdam University Press (in German) 26 or so volumes -
Case No. 328 - Heinrich Schwind - tried 1952, Berlin - transports into
the Litzmannstadt ghetto, murder etc
Case No. 557 - Otto Bradfisch and Günter Fuchs, tried 1963, Hannover -
Bradfisch was Stapoleiter and Fuchs Leiter Referat IIB - transfer of
Jews to Chelmno and other crimes at Litzmannstadt
Case No. 892 - Helmut Georg Krizons, tried 1985, Bochum - deportations
from the ghetto to Chelmno and other crimes
Full access to these documents in person at the Bundesarchiv - Zwischenarchiv Ludwigsburg. Otherwise it's off to Poland and seek out in their archives.

Thank you, once again, Steve, for your information.
In connection with Günther Fuchs, I found the following picture online. If this is in fact Fuchs, I imagine it is an early photograph, as he seems to be wearing a Scharführer rank. While some sources list his last rank as Sturmbannüfuhrer, others say it was Obersturmführer. Does anyone on thr forum know for certain what Fuchs last rank was? Thanks.

Re: Kripo Officers - Łódź Ghetto Koscielny Square
I have a copy of a letter from the judge in the Helmut Krizons trial to a witness in the case. The letter includes the date of birth of Krizons as 11.03.1916. I have also seen his dob as 11.03.1910. Which is correct?
