SS in Milan

#1

Post by jv » 11 Apr 2005, 05:16

I noticed an interest in the SS in Italy. This photo may be of interest as it depicts an SS Officer with Italian Officers at a garthering in Milan. The photo is of particular interest as the SS Officer was identified as Theo Saevecke, the man who in post-war Germany made it to the position of Regierungskriminalrat im Bundeskriminalamt (the highest commissioner position in the German police). This scandal was exposed in April 1963. SS Hauptsturmfuehrer Saevecke was Kriminalrat (Amt V) liaison officer in Lybia, Tunisia and Milan. Any other information I am quite happy to share. jv

The loss of "jv" was a very sad one for this forum.
I hope he's aware that he is missed.

My comment concerned deceased forum member "jv", who posted this photo and many other interesting images... I clicked a link in another Saevecke-releated thread and it brought me to this picture; I saw the name of the man who posted it, and it prompted the above sentiment.

Thanks. I didn't know he had died. Members often disappear and one does not know the reason.
