SD in Italy 1940

Picture of one of the courses in italy 1940 who are the Sturmbannführer here, which is which from Franz Hoth, Werner Boehm, Karl Heinz Stossberg, Helmut Tanzmann, Max Onuszeit and Josef Stueber

Great pic but where are their SD-Diamonds?

Hi Phil, I think the officer 4th from the left looks a lot like

Constantin Canaris

-SD diamonds was not an obligation. Many "clichés" are available as evidence.

Hi Phil, I did notice the names you posted but as soon as I saw the photo
I thought it looked like Canaris even though he sometimes wore glasses,
I thought it only fair to make a judgement thats why I said what I thought.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought SD men were supposed to wear the diamond, signifying their status as SD men. If I remember correctly, Sipo men wore SD uniforms but without the diamonds.

Dear friends,
SD and SiPo men took part to several courses at the colonial police school in Italy, among them Theo Saevecke, later SiPo CO in Milan, and Carl Schütz, later Leiter IV in Rome, CO in Forlì and in Meran.
