Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
Is there any information on when Kobelinski died or on what he did in the time following his dismissal respectively? I vaguely recall redeaing somewhere that he was allegedly killed soon after his dismissal from the SS, though I am not sure whether that is a reliable claim backed up by any evidence.
@ Phil: I presume your infos are based on Kobelinski's files in the BDC, so that there is no hope of finding anything new in them, 'cause all they contain has already been salvaged by you?
(What may there be PK and SS0 files perhaps? Probably no RS file, since he left the SS after three years and probably didn't get married in that shot span of time)

Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
Kobelinski died in Dachau in the Autumn of 1937 - officially due to suicide.
Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
Hello Phil,
Thanks for the nice piece about Kobelinkski although most of it I already found on Wikipedia.
Here's some extra info about him from Wikipedia which I didn't find in your bio.
After he was released from prison in early 1924, after his part in the München-putsch, he started a studie Rechtswissenschaften and around 1930 he lived as an arbeitsloser Referendar in Hamburg.
Wikipedia has his SS-number as 31.069(so now we have three different SS-numbers from him).
On 9-11-1933 he received the Bloodorder(nr. 1356).
And thanks to Zsasz for giving us his DoD.
Mike

Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
Kobelinski was dismissed from the SS in 1934. My question is: Was he later allowed back into the SS, and dismissed a second time in 1936?Greyfinn wrote: Dismissed from SS 14.03.1934

Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
There seems to be confirmation that Kobelinski was allowed back into the SS - this from his SS-Officer file:
9 May 1936, letter to SS-Uschaf. Hans Kobelinski, Stab SS-OA Rhein, SS-Nr. 175037, signed by Himmler, degrading him to SS-Mann and “Ich stoße Sie...aus der Schutzstaffel aus” because “Sie sind in mehreren Fällen eines Verbrechens gegen § 175 überführt”
Shlomo Aronson PhD on the early Gestapa/Gestapo provides more information.

Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
Thank you, Steve248 and Andrey!
So, Kobelinski was dismissed from the SS in 1934 and later (when?) readmitted as an SS-Uschaf. (?), and then dismissed a second time in 1936? Is this correct?
Steve248, do you have the title of Aronson's book?

Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
Peter was a bit quick off the mark this morning!
I was using Shlomo Aronson's PhD thesis from Freies Universität, Berlin, (1961?) "Heydrich und die Entstehung des SD und der Gestapo".
I met Shlomo a few years ago at a workshop at USHMM and talked to him about his PhD thesis and 50 years later it is still relevant but very hard to find. Shlomo then teaching in Texas if I remember correctly.

Re: SS-Standartenführer Hans Kobelinski
Hello,
Does anyone have any photo of Kobelinski?
Might be from his SS-personal file or other?
Thanks,
Andrey.
