So that cross is still there today? Odd that no one knows where it is.

Interesting posting and pictures. I thought that Himmler was laid to rest at an unknown spot near Lüneburg, and his body has never been found since then.

I'm wondering about the size of Himmlers cyanide container. Didn't he hide it in a hollow teeth? Seems a little bit big for that purpose?

The serjeant interviewed by Pathe news for the cinemas about himmlers death told the story of him driving off to an unknown spot and that only he would know where Himmler was buried.....
....HOWEVER, the book mentioned above informs the reader than in fact the guy couldn't even drive and had no drivers licence... OOPS.... thus the author, as I said, interviewed a whole host of doctors, guards and others present or involved with the case....its a good read whether you like the ideas presented or not it gives a clear picture of events...

only in occult type books I've read claim it as an 'unknown' spot. and they twist what little research they've done for effect anyway....

I read they dug up the remains and cremated him shortly after. as the british government wouldnt allow him to just stay buried somewhere in germany.

He didn't. At the point he decided to reveal his identity, he wasn't wearing his spectacles. In front of the British army officer he said "Heinrich Himmler" and then put his glasses on. It then immediately became clear to everyone that it was Himmler in custody.
He wore his glasses until he killed himself. They were removed in the frenzied attempt to save his life and one of the British army personnel pocketed the spectacles as a souvenir. When it was discovered they were missing, the crap hit the fan and the guilty party returned them in order that the corpse could be photographed with and without his spectacles. After a Russian delegation visited the corpse to verify his death, it was discovered they had gone missing again. This time they were not returned.
Himmler also carried a pair of pince nez which he left at the house at which he stayed in Bremervörde the night before his capture.
Max.

Right....

I'll remember not to quote it next time. Seems you dont need to anyway (looking at other posts on this forum - dont tell me you do because there are many examples where people dont).
