Death of Henri FENET
Death of Henri FENET
Hello,
Just a word to tell everybody that
Henri FENET died on the 09-14-2002.
He was part of the Charlemagne division, one of the last four men decorated by Adolf Hitler, the last living french who gained
the knight's iron cross, and defended Berlin in the last battle.
I don't know if a topic is really good for this, i just
wanted to inform everyone who might be interested in this.
He was incinerated in the south of France the 09-19-2002.

No, of course Henri Fenet wasn't the last survivor of the Charlemagne division.
For the most famouses, Christian de la Mazière is still living, also Pierre Rusco, and probably many others as well as anonymouses.
About another french who served in the Division "Großdeutschland", Guy Sajer, is still living.
I'll try to post a picture of Fenet, i have one from a French book.

Re: Death of Henri FENET
Sorry to bump this, but I'm making a short documentary on the french volunteers and I've found a lot of footage but I can't for the love of my life find the source of the video interview with Henri Fenet.
This is the one I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvDVLf_Ym0o
It seems like it aired on some english speaking television network, but I can't find it.
