On 30-1-1939 he got promoted to SS-Oberführer.
He was Abwehrbeauftragter der SS.
Between January 1941 and July 1944 he was employed within Amt VI from the Allgemeines Amt.
He was Chef des Amtsgruppe III.
On 1-5-1943 He got promoted to SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS a.D.
Between April 1943 and April 1944 he was employed within the Kommandoamt der Allgemeinen SS.
He was employed within the SS-Führungshauptamt für Sicherheitsaufgaben.
Died(KIA)on 3-5-1945 in Berlin.

If he died in Berlin on 3 May, he cannot have fallen, as Weidling surrendered on 2 May. Either the date is incorrect, or he committed suicide, or he was killed (murdered) by Soviet soldiers.
P.S. The same should be the case with police general Theodor Siebert, also said to have been killed in Berlin on 3 May.
