SS-Obersturmführer Joost

I've found the following in an article on the internet.

Who is this Hans-Heinrich Joost???
I can't find him in my files, on the internet there's not much more then this as well and on this forum he can't be found.
I first thought he could be identical to Heinz Jost but I've nothing in my file about him that says he was Chef der Gestapo-Aussenstelle Ahlem. And his ranks for a bit higher as well.

So hopefully somebody can tell me a bit more about Joost.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello Peter,

Thank you for this piece of information.
Hopefully someone also can tell me his DoB/birthplace.
I would also like to know when he was Chef der Gestapo-Aussenstelle Ahlem.

I do not have the additional information regarding release from internment and DoD.

I would hazard a guess that like practically all other internees, he was released from
CIC 6 (Neuengamme) sometime in 1948.

You might find him in the German phone book if still alive and living up in Schleswig
region where he was born.

Regards
Steve

He served in KdS Krakau very shortly, probably between April and July 1943 (referat IV A). Than he returned to his Stapo office in Hannover.

In 1948 he was sentenced to 2 years by British Military Tribunal in Hamburg. The trial records are available at UK National Archives Kew.
