Greetings Stammführer!
It was very thoughtful of you to translate the above remarks. Your English version contains the essentials.

However I should like to add a few remarks.

Frankenfels was and still is a small town in Austria, southwest of Vienna.

Franconia (in German Franken) is a region in south central Germany (in the state of Bavaria).

Wöllersdorf, Austria was the locale of a concentration camp (Anhaltelager) for political dissidents established during the Dollfuß regime.

Referat as used above was likely a section or department (Dienststelle). Dr. Jury probably served as a cultural-political deputy for Dr. Seyß-Inquart.

Gauleiter was the title of the leader of a Gau.

Realm is a frequently used translation of the word Reich and is nearer in meaning than is Empire, which also is sometimes used. Reich however has connotations lacking in both realm and empire. That is possibly one reason Dritte Reich is usually translated as Third Reich. Dr. Jury was named Reich Defense Commissioner for the Gau of Lower Danube (Niederdonau).

Servus!

Mike, is he died in 8 or 9 May 1945? Because on your site you listed his death date as 8 May 1945...

Jury killed himself during the night of 8th-9th May 1945. Whether it was before or after midnight, nobody knows.

I had already seen that, but I wouldn't be too quick to accept the timing. I believe witnesses also state that is roughly the time his body was discovered, so it's possible he had been dead several hours.
