Hans Waldmüller, promotion to SS-Ostubaf.?

Both E.G. Krätschmer and Jost Schneider give this officer's final rank as SS-Obersturmbannführer, but there is no verification of this in his SS file. A document in that file, dated 19.01.1945 and concerning his date of death, gives his rank as SS-Stubaf.
Possibly a posthumous promotion occurring in 1945 and not annotated in his file? Probably not promoted to that rank at all, just want to make sure. The Volksbund.de site is of little help- gives his final rank as "Sturmführer" (likely a typo for "Sturmbannführer").

In May 1937 he was placed with the Sicherheitsdienst des Reichsführers-SS.
In 1944 he was with the Staff from the Inspekteur der Sipo und des SD in Hamburg.

Hello Michael,
Done with pleasure. I was pretty surprised to see that a Waffen-SS officer was with the SD as well. But after reading everything carefully i came to the conclusion it was indeed one and the same person.

Thanks for the nice words, I help where I can. I know I lack some good backgroundsources like the books from Mark Yerger, the Führerliste from John Moore, the various DALs and some other sources but with the limited sources I've or can find I do the best I can.
