The man in question is Ruprecht Grams, who actually went by the name of Peter Grams. He was a signal officer in the Panzerjäger and Panzer units of the Totenkopf Division and was badly wounded in the face at Mortain in August 1944 as commander of the Aufklärungs Abteilung "Götz von Berlichingen". More details about him can be found in my publication, "Nachrichtenoffiziere der Waffen-SS". Below is a photo of Grams on the right, myself and Fritz Schütter from October 1990 during a meeting in the home of Paul Steinecke in Bielefeld.
