Note that Erich Braun later commanded SS-Panzergrenadier Regiment 26 in the 12. SS-PD HJ, following the death of RKT Bernhard Krause during the February 1945 Südwind offensive. Braun led the regiment to the end of the war.

Hey Juanjo,

Thanks for the infos on Schaumuller and Schifferdecker, much welcome.
And you're right about Braun, it had to be Erich. I probably made a typing-error, happens sometimes to all
of us.

So I checked my files again and I already have nice file about this Erich Braun.

And yes Marc, I already have him as commander of SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 26.
I only didn't know he succeeded Krause so that piece of info was very welcome indeed.

Thanks guys,
Mike

Hey Marc,

One question.
Was it not Kostenbader who succeeded Krause from 19-2-45 till 8-3-45 and Braun taking over from Kostenbader
from 8-3-45 till May 45????

Greetings,
Mike

Hi Mike,

I have no idea about Kostenbader, it is certainly possible. If you have information to indicate that, I have no reason to doubt it. I had only read that Braun took over command of SS-PGR 26 after Krause's death, but this statement is ambiguous, it doesn't specify that it was immediately after his death.

Hello Marc,

Well, the only evidence I've is this:
SS Panzergrenadier Regiment 26

Ostubaf Mohnke Wilhelm 21 06 43/ 19 08 44
Ostubaf Krause Bernard 19 08 44/ 19 02 45
Stubaf Kostenbader Erich 19 02 45/ 08 03 45
Ostubaf Braun Erich 08 03 45/ 00 00 45

This was written down by forummember Tjé in a post(great one actually)about 12. SS-Division.
And further in that post(three pages)nobody said otherwise so I guess this is correct.

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
Greetings,
Mike
