Polish Air Force uniform

Postby wz29man on 06 Jun 2008 21:33

This is my first post on this forum, so I just want to say hello to everyone :)
I just was wondering if anyone has any pictures of a Polish air force uniform from around 1937 to 1939. I have seen a few, but the pictures were not very detailed. Any help would be great.

oh ok then. I do not know if anyone on the board has seen it, but I have seen Andrzej Wajda's new movie Katyn, and it has an air force pilot wearing a uniform that apppears to be a one piece jumpsuit, but i am not absolutely sure. I was hoping maybe someone had a better picture of that uniform.

Hi,
Check the link below, It's a thread on a Polish forum about Polish Pilot uniforms with abundance of photos.
one piece suite - http://www.odkrywca.pl/forum_pics/picsf ... ot_257.jpg
whole thread - http://www.odkrywca.pl/mundur-lotnika-ii-rp,357820.html

According to military regulations there were several versions of the uniform - among them regular uniform similar as later in the UK different for officers and non-officers and one-piece suite. Flying personnel was also issued a leather jacket, as worn by a Polish pilot in "Katyn".
What do you think about the movie?

Thanks a lot! As for the movie Katyn, I thought it was one of the best movies ever.My polish is a bit rusty, but I undestood enough to know what is going on. Also, I liked it because it tells the truth, a truth the entire world should know. The world should know why those men were killed. If and when it comes out on dvd (with english subtitles) here in the USA, i am going to recommend it to some history teachers I know to show in their classses.
