Can anyone identify this helmet?

The helmet looks original to me, but the paint and decals appear to be a post WWII change. Marked what looks to be Q66 inside...any help? Thanks!

tullaberry,
Your helmet is a Norwegian postwar reissue of a German M40 helmet....though your does appear to have the original undyed liner & chin strap (usually the Norwegians dyed the liner a "choclate brown" color and punched little holes to indicate the side.....

These usually sell for around $100.00 and are of little interest to WW 2 collectors....however, your would be worth alittle more since the liner & strap are "useable" to restore a legit WW 2 helmet. If you're interested in helmet types....makes a nice example of a reused helmet from Norway circa late 40s through the 1960s.

This should be moved to a more appropriate thread.....
