Are these Polish Falcons?

Postby einwehrmann2 on 25 Nov 2011 16:39

These 2 pins are similar, but I notice the Crowns on the bird's heads are different. Why is that? I assume they are either Polish or Russian. Any ideas? Thanks!

Auseklis is correct, SPANISH. I'm sure one (left) is earlier than the other (right), but I'm not sure exact time period of either...(ones probably fairly early "Franco", the other is probably "Post Franco"...

As you have been told, they are Spanish. This eagle with the cross is the emblem of the Spanish Army.

Actually, it is just the opposite. The one on the left is later than the one on the right. The one on the right is from Franco's period, while the left one is post-Franco, as can be seen from the royal crown:

Steel Helmet

Not just helmets, but headgear in general.

The Spanish Eagle of the Spanish Army.As John G.said, early and post Franco insignia, for helmets, caps and berets.
And in embroidery version insignia,on the shoulders stap of the Army Headquarters' soldiers, until middle of 80's.
