The movie "Flags of our Fathers" has a Marine Corps Sargent that looks like an E-7 Gunny but instead of two rockers under he has two straight lines. Anyone know what this rank is?

Technical Sergeant. IIRC, the insignia was changed in 1947 to two rockers instead of the straight lines.
